Scenario :

Monsieur Séraphin, chief clerk in an insurance company, always well-groomed and very respectable, finds himself, as a result of a fatal series of events, in the street in his underwear. The fact that Madame Séraphin suffers from total deafness doesn’t help things. A hilarious farce.

The Director :

Louis Feuillade

Louis Feuillade was born in Lunel (France) in 1873 to a modest family of wine merchants. Trying his luck in Paris in 1898, he worked as a journalist before becoming a script writer for Gaumont in 1906.

Between 1907 and 1918 he was Gaumont’s head of production, at the same time himself making some 700 movies of all types and length until his premature death in 1925. Although he had a knack for comedies, he remains particularly reknowned for his crime episode films : the Fantomas series (1913-14) and the serials Les Vampires (1915), Judex (1916), Ti-Minh (1918) and Barrabas (1919).

The Composer :

Antonio Coppola

During the last 25 years, Antonio Coppola has written numerous scores for silent movies. Today, he is considered to be one of the most knowledgeable and experienced musicians in this very specialised field.

Since 1975, he has been invited to play at hundreds of silent movie projections in cinemas throughout Italy, France, Germany, the USA, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Greece and England.

He has given courses on the musical accompaniment of silent movies in numerous universities in Europe and throughout the world.
