  • Centenary of Jean Françaix

Disk, the centenary Françaix is marked by the publication of an exciting package Octet France, with the composer at the piano and management (3 CD Indésens). Sonata for violin and piano 1934 Nonetto inspired by the 1995 Quintet KV 452 by Mozart, the auditor makes an attractive route for the production chamber musician (and any outstanding disciple of Isidor Philipp one hears the keyboard! ).

The appointment of the Orangerie de Bagatelle like every summer for the past two decades, the Octet France obviously has not forgotten Françaix which are found in several works of creative training programs conducted by the clarinetist Jean-Louis Sajot.

    Johannes Brahms: Clarinet Quintet
    Orangerie de Bagatelle, Paris

This Thursday evening, the melancholy of the Clarinet Quintet (1891) Brahms seems circumstance, as the rain falls hard on the gardens, but it is as if the musicians strove to fight against this alliance of weather and partition, attempting to bring out the dramatic reappearance of the opening theme and even that the climate can have joyful tempi are Going, generous approach, the music flows naturally, the quality is instrumental appointments and all, a perfect homogeneity, suggests a quintet with (not for) clarinet – in short, it is the state of grace.

  • Disc refreshing and inexhaustible wealth…

Ludwig van Beethoven: Septet, opus 20
    Adolphe Blanc: Septet, opus 40
    Calliope CAL 9384

The Octet France expanded its discography Calliope with a tasty coupling significant policy: in addition to its controls and its commitment to the great works of the repertoire, the course seeks to defend indeed somewhat neglected composers.

Adolphe Blanc (1828-1885) is one of them …. the Septet for many will be a pleasant and surprising discovery, as this page to your pastoral, sweet and nothing is obsolete a great completion to the image energy which supplies the interpretation of the Octet France, providing a rare listening pleasure: incisors and slender strings, wood smooth, strong internal cohesion.

The work takes the formation of Beethoven Septet, the archetype of music for strings and wind, and beautifully served by a range indicating a communicative joy that makes all the money. In high purity, vibrant and airy reading this can appreciate an instrumental performance of any foreground, combining precision and musicality, and both individually and collectively.

Disc refreshing and inexhaustible wealth, which he will return often.
